Ingredients

  • For Ajwain Rasam powder
  • 1 tsp Carom Seeds/Ajwain
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander Seeds
  • For Rasam
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 Red Chillies
  • 1 Green Chillies
  • 5 chopped Garlic
  • 1/2 liter Tamarind Juice (extracted from Lemon-sized Tamarind ball)
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 2 Sprigs Curry Leaves
  • Rock Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric

Instructions

  1. Grind all the ingredients for Rasam Powder into a fine powder.
  2. Heat Oil in a pan, add Fenugreek Seeds and Mustard Seeds and fry. Add Cumin Seeds and Garlic and fry further.
  3. Add Tamarind Juice, Green Chillies, Salt, Curry leaves along with the stems, Turmeric and Ajwain Powder and boil on a medium flame for 15 minutes.
  4. After 15 minutes, remove from the fire and drink it hot or eat it with Rice or Idly and relish the taste.
