Ingredients

  • For stuffing
  • 1 cup Raw Green Gram
  • 3 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Grated Raw Coconut
  • 1 cup Jaggery grated
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • For the Rice Ball
  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Water – Sufficient for Dosa like batter

Instructions

  1. Green Gram should be roasted until they give out an aroma. And then cook till they are soft on a medium flame until you get five whistles.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the cooked Gram and cook until Jaggery melts fully.
  3. Cool the mixture.
  4. Add Salt Water to the Rice flour and make a loose batter.
  5. Then cook it until it becomes a thick paste and then let it cool.
  6. Dip the leaf plates in water for a minute and remove.
  7. Coat the leaf with some Ghee and make Lemon-Sized Rice Flour balls and spread them thin. Then put a Gooseberry-sized ball of the stuffing and tap the edges gently.
  8. Then fold the rest of the leaf and put them in an Idly cooker. And cook on a high flame for 5 minutes and steam on a low flame for 4 minutes and remove.
  9. Serve with Ghee.
