  • 1 1/2 cup Ration/Dosa rice
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1/2 cup Black Gram
  • 1/2 cup Thick rice flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Cooking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • water


  1. Wash rice, black gram, fenugreek seeds, and rice flakes thoroughly and soak for five hours.
  2. After 5 hours, grind the mixture into sift batter, adding part by part.
  3. The batter then should be allowed to ferment for 12 hours.
  4. After 12 hours, add salt to taste, cooking soda mixed in water, and the batter thinned to easy-flow consistency.
  5. On a heated pan, pour the batter at one spot and leave it there. Add oil to the edges, cover it to let the steam stay in and steam cook on medium flame.
  6. Remove the dosa after the bottom side is roasted red.
