Raw Banana Onion Fry Curry | Guntur Style Aratikaya Allam Ulli Karam

Ingredients

  • 2 Raw Banana
  • 1/2 liter Water
  • Salt- Required
  • Turmeric - little
  • For Ginger Onion paste:
  • 2 Finely chopped Onion
  • 4-5 Green Chillies
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • For the Curry:
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 2 Red Chilli
  • 1 tsp Bengal Gram
  • 1 tsp Black Gram
  • 2 Sprigs Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • Chopped Coriander leaves - a few
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Cook cut Raw Banana pieces in boiling water till 80% ,in which salt and Turmeric are added. Keep them aside.
  2. Remove the peel once they become cold. Mash them with a fork.
  3. Grind Onions,Ginger and Green Chillies into a smooth paste.
  4. Take some Oil in a pan. Add Red Chillies, Mustard, Cumin and roast till they turn golden brown.
  5. Add Onion paste into this and fry till the oil floats to the top.
  6. Add the cooked and mashed Raw Banana into this and cook it for 7-8 minutes, covering it on a medium flame.
  7. Garnish it with Chopped Coriander and Lemon Juice and remove it from the fire and serve hot.
