Panakam | Bellam Panakam | Panakam Health Benefits | Sri Ramanavami Panakam | How to make Panakam- Are you looking to make a holy offering that is also a healthy drink? Then make this Panakam, Jaggery Syrup with Pepper that is immensely popular in South India. Here is a detailed recipe with images and a video.
In many temples, this Syrup is offered to the deity as Prasadam. And we make them for festivals and religious occasions such as Ganesh Chaturthi and in the month of Shravana. And it is made as Prasadam to Sri Rama on the occasion of Ram Navami.
It is effortless to make this Panakam. But there is some difference in the proportion of the ingredients we use. I am making a classic Panakam syrup, not as a holy offering but just as a refreshing drink that can save you from the summer heat and heatstroke.

Tips
-
There should only be a hint of Salt and Edible in the Jaggery Syrup. Only then the liquid tastes good.
-
Tender Basil Leaves add flavour. If you cannot find tender ones, use the ones you have chopped into small pieces.
