Tips

  1. You should add 2 tbsp Rice to the measure Cup, or the Dosa will crumble.

  2. If you like, you can use Brown Rice instead of White Rice.

  3. The raw Coconut that you add to the Dosa tastes very good. The presence of the Coconut should be so mild that you should only feel a hint of the taste.

  4. This Batter tastes better if you add a Cup and grind afresh before making the Dosa. This Batter has more protein and fibre but gets ferments quickly. You could store it in the refrigerator and use it the next day too. But it doesn’t have the same taste as the day before.

  5. You can also make Utappam and Gunta Punugulu with this Batter. But if you want to make Gunta Punugulu, you need to add 4 tbsp of Rice per Cup of Chickpea.

  6. The Dosa that is made with Chickpea Batter takes longer time to cook. That is why it should be roasted on both sides on medium flame.
