Dal Parata recipe with Leftover dal | Dal Paratha | Dal Chapathi

Dal Parata recipe with Leftover dal | Dal Paratha | Dal Chapathi - This Paratha is made with softly cooked Dal or leftover Dal mixed with Wheat Atta. It is good for tiffin, lunch or dinner. This is a simple recipe and really suitable for lunch boxes and easy to make even for bachelors. Pair it with cool curd and mango pickle or Pudina Chutney and you got a great recipe.

Usually, Dal Paratha is made with raw Bengal gram, cooked with spices and stuffed in a wheat roti. It is mostly made in Gujarat and Rajasthan. I am making this with that inspiration. It would be much liked south Indians. Just two Parathas and you will feel full. Check the tips for other variations.

Tips

Dal :

  1. I have used ¼ cup of Red Gram cooked soft to make 1.5 voor of Dal. You could use a green gram, Bengal gram instead of Red Gram and mash it well.
    How to use leftover dal

  2. Often, we have leftover Dal that we make with some vegetable. You can just remove the seasoning and vegetables and use that.

  3. Once dal is added ti the Wheat flour, add some Salt and Carom seeds to enable easy digestion.

Some more tips:

  1. If you strain the Water from the Dal and make it dry, you will know how much Water is needed to knead the dough and make a paratha.

  2. This Paratha tastes good if made in layers. Each layer should be coated with Oil and rolled into a square shape or any shape you lije.
