The day goes well if I start the day having this healthy Ragi Dosa. It is not too oily. It can be easily made by bachelors also.

There are many ways in which you can make Ragi Dosas.One method is to grind Ragi along with soaked Rice and Black gram leaving it overnight to make it sour and use and another method is this Instant Ragi dosas ,which are tasty as the other dosas.

We frequently make this Ragi Dosa at home.It can be made without much preparation,so it can be made any time. As it is soft, it can be carried in tiffin boxes also.

Tips

1.We can add Rice flour to Ragi flour and make the Dosas, but I added Onions and Red Chillies paste to it.You may not get a proper shape because we are using Onion, but it remains soft for longer hours.

2.Fennel gives a special fragrance to the Dosas, but you can avoid it if you don't like it.

  1. Use hot water to mix the batter, so that you get Dosas soft.

  2. Very less Oil is required to make these Dosas.You have to patiently roast this on both sides properly or else it sticks to the teeth while eating.

  3. Any chutney will go well with these Dosas.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ragi Flour
  • 2 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 5 Red Chilli
  • 1 tsp Fennel
  • 1/3 cup Chopped Onion
  • Salt
  • Coriander - a little
  • Hot water - Required
  • Oil - For making Dosa

Instructions

  1. Grind Red Chilli and Fennel together into a fine powder.
  2. Add this powder and all other ingredients to the Ragi flour and mix well adding water to get a batter suitable for Dosas.
  3. Heat the Dosa tawa. Spread the batter on it. Pour Oil around the edges and roast it on both sides on a medium flame
  4. This Dosa tastes better with Peanut, Coconut or Ginger Chutney.
