Tips

  1. Bread crumbs are readily available. I have used those. If you cannot find them, then dry Milk Bread in the sun or toast it on a pan, remove the edges and make a soft powder in a mixie.

  2. If the Lollipops are rolled in Bread crumb Powder and refrigerated for an hour, they will become firm and won’t break open when you fry them.

  3. This Lollipop tastes good with Tomato Sauce, Mayonnaise or Mint Chutney.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Soft Boiled Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Grated Carrot
  • 1/2 cup Grated Cabbage
  • 1/2 cup Chopped French Beans
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Green Chillies
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Onions
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Mirchi Powder
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Green Coriander
  • Ice Cream Sticks
  • Oil to fry
  • For coating
  • 1/4 cup Maida
  • 1/2 cup Bread crumbs
  • Salt – a little
  • Water – to mix to a dilute consistency

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tsp of oil and add Cumin Seeds and roast. Then add grated Green Chillies, chopped Onions and fry on a low flame until the raw taste goes.
  2. Then add the chopped Cabbage, Carrot, Beans and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  3. When moisture goes out of the Carrots, add Salt, Mirchi, Chilli Flakes, Cumin Powder and Garam Masala. Mix well and fry for another minute.
  4. Now add the soft boiled Potatoes. Mix well and switch off the stove. Add the Lemon Juice and Green Coriander and mix well. Let cool.
  5. Once cool, make small balls out of the Vegetable mixture. Keep them in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  6. Now add Salt to Maida and make a mixture of thin inconsistency.
  7. Then dip the vegetable balls in the Maida batter and coat them with Bread crumbs powder 3-4 times. Then stick an Ice Cream stick into the ball and gently press it gently to fit the stick.
  8. Now, put them in hot oil and leave them for 2 minutes without turning. Then slowly turn them over and fry them.
  9. Put the Lollipops in Oil and fry until golden on a medium flame.
  10. When they are fried crispy, serve with Tomato Sauce.
