Oats Masala vadas are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and taste wonderful. They are a small variation of the regular Masala Vadas made in South India, especially by the Telugus and Tamils. And these Vadas absorb very little Oil. It is a great option as an evening snack or a starter.
Tips
• Do not soak the Bengal Gram for too long. In 2 hours, it will soak to 80% and the rest will remain as a grain. It is the grain that makes the Vada crunchy.
• Add Water with spoons as needed and make the batter stiff.
• Make the Vadas first and see if they are staying intact. If they are crumbling, add some Water and make a smoother batter before you add Vadas to the Oil.
