Veg Fried Rice Recipe | How to make fried rice | Homemade Fried Rice | Restaurant Style Veg Fried Rice - The Chinese Fried Rice that is so popular with Indians is, in fact, not real Chinese style Fried Rice. It is an Indo-Chinese version of Fried Rice, which has been modified to suit our tastes in India.

Restaurant Veg Fried Rice Recipe is very simple and if you have chopped Vegetables ready, it takes just 5 minutes.

The street food-style Fried Rice Recipe is very different from the Restaurant-style Fried Rice Recipe. I will soon share the recipe for the street food-style Fried Rice.

Restaurant-style Fried Rice tastes great when accompanied by Manchuria or Tomato ketchup.

Tips

Basmati Rice:

  1. I have used Basmati Rice but you could use Sona Masuri Rice or make it with leftover Rice.

How to get fluffy rice?:

  1. Put Rice in boiling water and add some Salt, and some Lemon Juice and cook uncovered on a high flame.

  2. When Rice cooks to 90%, strain the Water and spread on a plate coated with Oil or sieve it and let it cool in air. Then you get fluffy Rice.

  3. Cooking up to 90% means when you crush a Rice grain, it should still have a little bit of raw crumb left.

How to get Restaurant taste?:

Indo- Chinese recipes should always be tossed on a high flame. Then you get the smoky flavour and Restaurant taste.

Aromatic Powder:

I have used Aromatic Powder instead of Ajinomoto. This is easily available online. Those who cannot find it can use Ajinomoto, also known as tasting salt. Or you can drop them all.

Vegetables:

If Vegetables are chopped thinly in a uniform size and fried on a high flame to 60%, they become crunchy and taste great. If you fry them too much, they become too hard.

Sugar:

That little Sugar that you sprinkle on the Fried Rice balances the various flavours.

  • Prep Time 15 mins
  • Cook Time 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice - cooked in a fluffy way (150 gms)
  • 1/2 cup Carrots thinly chopped
  • 1/3 cup French Beans thinly chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Light Soya Sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Aromatic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Spring Onion
  • 3 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil and add thinly chopped French Beans, chopped Carrots and fry on a high flame up to 60 %.
  2. Add the fluffy Basmati Rice and toss well (Check tips to see how to cook fluffy Rice)
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and toss on high flame.
  4. Sprinkle chopped Spring Onions, toss and remove from fire.
